POCKET PRESSOR RECIPES

Phenylephrine (Neosynephrine)

Phenylephrine (Neosynephrine)

Ingredients:

  • 10mg/cc vial of Phenylephrine
  • 100cc bag of NS
  • 10cc syringe


Instructions:

  • Draw up 10mg (1cc) of Phenylephrine


  • Add to 100cc bag of NS (concentration = 100ug/cc 


  • LABEL BAG AS PHENYLEPHRINE AND INDICATE CONCENTRATION (100ug/cc)


  • Draw up into a 10cc syringe and use 100-200ug (1-2cc) at a time for hypotension (titrate to effect)


  • LABEL SYRINGE AS PHENYLEPHRINE AND INDICATE CONCENTRATION (100ug/cc)

Norepinephrine (Levophed)

Phenylephrine (Neosynephrine)

Ingredients

  • 4mg/4cc vial of Norepinephrine (1mg/cc)
  • 100cc bag of NS
  • 10cc Syringe


Instructions

  • Add 1 cc (1mg) of Norepinephrine to 100cc bag of NS (concentration 10ug/cc)


  • LABEL BAG AS NOREPINEPHRINE AND INDICATE CONCENTRATION (10ug/cc)


  • Draw up into a 10cc syringe and use 0.5-1cc (5-10ug) at a time for hypotension (titrate to effect)


  • LABEL SYRINGE AS NOREPINEPHRINE AND INDICATE CONCENTRATION (10ug/cc)

Ingredients

  • 1mg (1ampule) of epinephrine from arrest cart (100ug/cc)
  • 100 cc bag of NS
  • 10 cc syringe


Instructions

  • Add 2cc (200ug) of epinephrine to 100 cc bag of NS (concentration 2ug/cc)


  • LABEL BAG AS EPINEPRHINE AND INDICATE CONCENTRATION (2ug/cc)


  • Draw up into a 10cc syringe and use 2-4ug (1-2cc) at a time for hypotension (titrate to effect)


  • LABEL SYRINGE AS EPINPHERINE AND INDICATE CONCENTRATION (2ug/cc)
